Consider…
Without a doubt, there is nothing more important than being tuned into God via His Spirit, word, and voice. Let us be sobered by this: “Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.” (John 8:47) We are also reminded that hearing God increases our faith (Rom. 10:17) and is essential to following Him (John 10:27). Tuning out the things of the world, the flesh, and the devil is also necessary. We do that by “putting off” that which quenches the Spirit in us (Eph. 4:22; 1 Thes. 5:19). We need to remember that we have an enemy, and he is bent on deceiving us (John 8:44; Gen. 3:1; Eph. 6:11).
Pray…
Heavenly Father, Draw the attention of my mind and the affection of my heart on that which is good (Phil. 4:8). Set my mind on the things above, not on earth (Col. 3:1-2), and incline my ear to the things of the Spirit (Rev. 3:22). Remove from me the things could prevent me from enduring in the faith victoriously (Heb. 12:1).
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
