Consider…
This may be a bit of a stretch, but work with me. Mankind, like the computer, was built by our Creator to function perfectly, just as He intended. But like the computer, we were and still are susceptible to corruption. Because of Adam’s fall (disobedience to God), we inherited a fatally flawed nature. (Rom. 5:12) Once a computer’s OS has been compromised and essentially hijacked, no amount of antivirus protection or malware remover can rehabilitate it to its new and uncorrupted condition. It needs to be reformatted, or restored to original settings. No amount of errort, good deeds, contrition, or restitution can undo what our sin has done, or make us holy and righteous. We also need a “reformatting”, but to an imputed, or other OS. Jesus Christ is that Other. In Him we have redemption, the forgiveness of sin. (Eph. 1:7) He doesn’t just make our old nature better, but instead makes us new (2 Cor. 5:17). Only in Christ can we realize our intended purpose and function (Eph. 2:10), and the satisfaction that comes from doing it.
Pray…
Father, Your word says that I am fearfully and wonderfully made (Psa. 139:14). Saturate my mind with the truth that I am dead to sin and alive to Christ, living my life in Him (Gal. 2:20). Continually transform me into His image as You renew my mind (Rom. 12:1-2, Phil 2:5). Constantly remind me that He is my way (John 14:6), and that in Him I will experience abundance, joy, and everlasting peace (John 10:10, Acts 2:28, John 16:33). In Jesus’ name, Amen
