Consider…
Although the importance of friendship and community is certainly emphasized in the Bible (Example Ecc. 4:9-12), its value is also widely accepted in the secular community as well. A wise sage once uttered, crooned actually, that people, people who need people, are the luckiest people in the world. Redundant, yes, but true nonetheless. We need each other! And as Christians, the most important thing we can do as a friend and brother is to connect others to Jesus, as seen with Phillip and Nathanael (John 1:45-46) and the associates of a paralytic (Mark 2:3-5). While developing relationships with other men is vital, deepening intimacy with the Lord Jesus is paramount to abundant living.
Pray…
Father, equip me to be a friend that loves at all times, a brother born for a time of adversity. Make me willing to lay down my life for a brother, and use me as iron to sharpen iron.
