Consider…
After creating man, the Lord gave him something to do, namely to work and keep the garden into which he was placed (Gen. 2:15). We are warned against being idle (Prov. 19:15). But neither would the Lord have us do something simply for the sake of doing something (Col. 3:23). We were created by Him for His good works (Eph. 2:10).
Pray…
My Father in heaven, Help me to recognize that You’ve made me as a member in Your body (1 Cor. 12:27), to serve You with my work (Col. 3:17). Sanctify and equip me as Your servant, that I will be found faithful in that which You’ve sent me (Isa. 6:8). Because I sometimes get fatigued, strengthen me to not grow weary (Gal. 6:9). And remind me that You are mindful of my efforts, even rewarding my faithfulness (Mat. 25:21, Rev. 22:12).
In the name of Jesus, Amen.
You Didn’t Hear It From Me…
