Consider…
Energy is essential to enabling and sustaining functionality. That said, it is to be expended to make things go. We are right to have an aversion to laziness; there is much biblical admonition against it (Prov. 6:6, 18:9, 21:25, 26:14). But we are also warned against doing too much, spreading ourselves too thin (Exo. 18:17-18). Rest and sleep are gifts from the Lord to restore us (Psa. 127:2, 23:1-2), and as such we shouldn’t neglect them.
Pray…
My Father in Heaven, You created me in Your image (Gen 1:27, 2:2). Give me the energy to do Your work and finish strong (Phil. 4:13, 3:14). When I am overwhelmed and weary, give me the rest that restores me (Mat. 11:28-30). Help me to wait on You, knowing that You will renew my strength (Isa. 40:31). Increase in me Your Holy Spirit’s power, and I will be Your faithful witness (Acts 1:8).
In Your Son’s name, Amen.
