Consider…
The fallen world in which we live is fraught with peaks and valleys, victories and defeats, uncertainty and struggle. In the lack of a script for our lives, we need to expect the unexpected, as the saying goes. That said, the Christian does have One that attends to the unfolding of our life’s story, and “writes” us into His sovereign plot. We are bound by our own finitude from knowing the end from the beginning, but as we trust the Master Director and His screenplay, we can rest assured that when the credits roll, we will enter into His eternal rest, the greatest, most secure ending of all.
Pray…
My Lord and King, Forgive my unbelief and help me to understand and trust Your plan for my life (Mark 9:24), even when things don’t make sense (Jam. 1:2-3). Increase in me the faith that moves mountains (Mat. 17:20). Remind me that what is meant for evil, you mean for good (Gen. 50:20), that all things work together for good because I love Jesus (Rom. 8:28). Give me wisdom (Jam. 1:5) and teach me to understand that which confuses, frustrates, or disheartens me (John 14:26). Transform me by the renewal of my mind, that I would know and do Your will (Rom. 12:1-2).
In the name of Your Son, Amen.
“What, me pontificate?”
