Consider…
The euphoria of our favorite team winning a championship is genuine, but temporal at best, no matter the duration and travails of anticipation. And unless the joy and satisfaction realized by the fulfillment of our greatest dreams and desires is centered in eternal truth, it will also fade, regardless of significance. You see, that which is not intended to last or ultimately satiate won’t. It simply can’t. Lest we be dismayed, there is a transcendent something, a Someone, if you will, that does what no sports championship, fulfilled dream, or realized ambition can. We are told in Scripture that it is the Lord who gives us the desires of our hearts (Psa. 37:4), it is He that knows what we truly need and provides it (Psa. 107:8-9). There are pleasures in this world; good, bad, and indifferent, but it is Christ who gives us the abundance of life (John 10:10).
Pray…
Lord Jesus,
Remind me that when I seek You and your righteousness first, all things will be added unto me (Mat. 6:33), and that I cannot imagine what You have prepared for me because I love You (1 Cor. 2:9). Help me to know and do Your will as I abide in You, knowing that the world and its desires are passing away (1 John 2:17).

Okay, this was pretty sweet.
