Consider…
More than once, i.e. every blog I’ve ever written, I seem to wander away from the title of the post. In “I Can Only Imagine”, I want to make the point that a society or culture where people can love each other in spite of our differences, as drastic as they may be, seems far-fetched. This isn’t to suggest that we partner with or condone those that espouse or propagate evil. The late philosopher Rodney King once astutely mused, “Can’t we all just get along?” As Christians, we are called to nothing less, regardless of how it is or is not received. After all, Jesus loves us, and not because we are worthy (Rom. 5:8).
Pray…
Lord Jesus, Remind me that You created humanity in Your image (Gen. 1:26-27). Apart from Your grace, I was separated from You because of my sin (Rom.3:23) and walked in darkness (Col. 3:5-7). Give me Your wisdom to become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some…for the sake of the gospel (1 Cor. 9:22-23). Give me Your love burden to pray for those that persecute me, as You would want me to do (Matt. 5:43-45).
In Your name I pray, Amen.
