Consider…
For most of us, time is a very precious commodity, and we certainly don’t need any more purposeless distractions to waste what little we have. In fact, the Bible refers to the time in which we live our lives as a mere mist (James 4:14). Let’s face it, all of us are prone to get bogged down entertaining ourselves with TV, recreational activities, social media, sports, and other things, none of which are inherently wrong or bad. Tonight, I watched a DVRed episode of BattleBots, which I will defend as redemptive, sanctified viewing. As it relates to time management or any area of our lives, we want to invest in that which will bear fruit, ideally eternal fruit. So if you are going to join in the next fad, whatever it is, use the opportunity to build a relationship with someone, and bring them closer to the One that never changes.
Pray…
Lord, help me to look carefully at how I walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore, do not let me be foolish, but give me understanding as to what Your will is. (Eph. 5:15-17)
Reaping and Sowing, Pokémon Edition
According to news reports, this was the first guy to wreck his car while using the Pokémon Go app. I’m guessing there isn’t a character named Elm Tree. I fear he won’t be the last. Dear Jesus, please come back soon. Seriously.
