Consider…
What we think our friends should or should not do is based on our worldview, that which has shaped our thinking. How we think about a matter will necessarily dictate how we act or react in a given situation. We respond to external or internal stimuli according to how we’ve been “trained”. Therefore, it is essential that our minds and thoughts be “trained” with Truth that will bear abundant and eternal fruit before we endeavor to equip our friends to overcome the hurdles and scars of the world, the flesh, and the devil.

Lord, You tell me I have the mind of Christ. Transform me by the renewal of my mind, so that my actions will be informed by your thoughts in me. Remind me that I am my brother’s keeper, and have the privilege and responsibility to encourage and edify him in the Spirit.

As if we needed a reminder…
Combing through the internet, there were more than a few images of guys doing stupid stuff with other guys, most of them hysterical (and to a guy, understandable). This is but one tangible example of why men need at least one friend that doesn’t let them do stupid stuff. Sadly, we’ve either been the guy on the ladder or the guy that had the idea to position the ladder, or both, at least figuratively speaking.
